Salta Horses offers distinctive professional development opportunities that will strengthen your team’s ability to work together effectively and efficiently. Engaging with our horses through goal-oriented activities speeds up the learning process and encourages teams to take a creative approach towards finding solutions. We offer a range of corporate retreats in North Canterbury and can customise programmes to meet the needs of your organisation. We can even come to you with our mobile team of mini-horses. Rates are negotiable for not-for-profit and community organisations.
Enhance your team and your business
Full-day corporate retreat
Escape to our indoor facility in the Okuku foothills for a full-day team retreat, customised to your business goals. This facility provides a safe space for working with the horses, as well as comfortable kitchen and seminar areas. We can run a programme for between seven and 14 participants.
Half-day, small-group retreats
Spend a morning focused on team building or leadership activities. Small group retreats are available for groups of up to 10 participants and can be run at any location within a well-fenced round pen, covered in either bark or sand. For mobile work, our special team of mini horses will be brought in.
What you’ll learn
Today’s busy lifestyle and fast-paced work environments leave little room for us to focus on the present moment. Being around horses encourages teams to focus on the here and now - their sheer size and presence cannot be ignored. This state of mindfulness creates the space for reflection, creativity and change.
The horses then become a metaphor for what is happening in the workplace, allowing for safe and solutions-focused conversations. You will discover new ways of working with colleagues and learn how to think outside the square in order to problem-solve together.
Horses are also great equalisers because they respond to us honestly, regardless of our status in the workplace. Observing herd dynamics can help teams to recognise patterns and behaviours in their organisation that they may wish to change.
How it works
During our corporate retreats you’ll explore workplace challenges and opportunities with horses who are specifically selected to facilitate collaboration, communication and to speed up the learning process. You’ll interact with our horses in a safe, enclosed area and remain on the ground. You’ll need to dress for the weather, with closed-in, sturdy footwear.
